Triangular Co-operation

Triangular co-operation can bring together the best of different actors - providers of development co-operation, partners in South-South co-operation and international organisations - to share knowledge and implement projects that support the common goal of reducing poverty and promoting development. There is no internationally agreed definition of "triangular co-operation", which may also be referred to as "trilateral co-operation" or "trilateral assistance" or "tripartite co-operation" or "tripartite agreement". This highlights the need for further work to build consensus on the main characteristics of triangular co-operation and to clarify how to make the most out of triangular co-operation and deal with its challenges. The OECD has been contributing substantially in recent years to promote dialogue on and encourage greater analysis of triangular co-operation.
