POVNET has prepared guidance to donors on promoting pro-poor growth. The policy statement is developed in the attached document in Chinese. POVNET has produced reports on promoting the contribution of private sector development, agriculture and infrastructure to pro-poor growth.

Sustainable economic growth is central to effective, long term poverty reduction strategies. But rapid and sustained poverty reduction requires pro-poor growth – a pace and pattern of growth in which poor women and men contribute, participate and benefit.
The China-DAC Study Group was formed by the International Poverty Reduction Centre in China (IPRCC) and the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) in 2009. It aims to facilitate the sharing of experiences and promote learning on growth and poverty reduction.

A POVNET workshop was held in Bamako to help strengthen the contribution that agriculture makes to pro-poor growth in Mali. It brought together government, farmer organisations and donors with a view to improving aid effectiveness.
Donors should honour their aid for trade pledges to developing countries despite the economic crisis, said OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría as he opened the OECD Policy Dialogue on Aid for Trade, held in Paris on 3 November 2008.
