The first edition of the report AEO 2001/2002 was launched in Paris during the 3rd International Forum on African Perspectives in February 2002, in presence of President of Senegal Abdoulaye Wade, one of the originators of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) and the first serving African Head of State to visit the OECD.
The second edition of the report AEO 2002/2003 was launched on 3 March 2003.
