The discussion centred on the effectiveness of public policies in Latin America. One key aspect of the discussion was the identification of main bottlenecks in education, infrastructure and innovation policies in the region and how they can foster economic growth and equality. Additionally, increased domestic resource mobilisation and a more progressive taxation system are crucial for countries to successfully meet the challenges of development and achieve higher living standards for all their people.
Juan Temístocles Montás, Minister of Economy, Planning and Development of the Dominican Republic, attended this presentation and Enmanuel Pinto Moreira, Chief Economist at the World Bank office in Dominican Republic commented on the report.
