    IOB Study : Civil society, aid, and development: a cross-country analysis

    In addition to bilateral and multilateral programs, non-governmental organisations NGOs) play an important role in channeling development aid towards their Southern partners. Rigorous evaluations of programs and projects are scarce and tend to be limited to the analysis of perceived effects at local level. Far less attention is usually devoted to the aggregate effect of development aid on global civil society strength and performance.

    IOB Study: Renewable Energy: Access and Impact, A systematic literature review of the impact on livelihoods of interventions providing access to renewable energy in developing countries

    About 40% of the global population relies on traditional use of biomass for cooking (i.e. the three-stone fires) and heating their houses. The objective of the systematic literature review presented in this report is to provide a comprehensive overview of evaluative literature and reports regarding the impact of (renewable)energy interventions on the livelihoods of end-users.

    Country Assistance Program Evaluation for Pakistan

    This second independent evaluation of the ADB program in Pakistan (the first was in 2007) covers operations and policy dialogue during 2002–2012. The focus is on the results of two country strategies, one covering 2002–2006 and the other 2009–2013. The evaluation assesses the performance of ADB operations, and provides lessons and recommendations for ADB’s new country partnership strategy (CPS), scheduled for approval in 2014.
