Our work on risk management analyses the novel public policies, tools and practices of governments to address major risks. Through the sharing of country experiences, analyses are developed to draw-out criteria for the effective governance of large scale hazards and threats.

This Forum, held in L'Aquila, focused on priorities for a long-term development strategy in the Abruzzo region, hit by an earthquake in 2009. It aimed to facilitate discussion among all stakeholders as well as with other international regions confronted with similar recovery and strategic challenges following a natural disaster.

A kick-off meeting was held in Mexico City to present the review methodology and expected deliverables to stakeholders from the public sector at Federal, state and municipal levels as well as from the private sector, volunteer organisations and academia.
