The corporate governance landscape has changed significantly through increased state ownership as governments had to recapitalize financial and other institutions during the crisis. OECD has examined national practices and published its conclusions. 

Privatisation in the 21st Century: Recent Experiences of OECD Countries

The OECD has released a stocktaking of good practices in privatisation, based on OECD member countries’ experiences since 2000. This report reviews the main challenges during the privatisation process and offers advice to public authorities on how to address them.

Corporate governance and the financial crisis

The current crisis has highlighted many corporate governance failures. As part of its strategic response, the OECD is working with governments and industry to develop and put in place more effective corporate governance standards.
