Aid for Trade

The OECD contribution to the WTO Aid for Trade (www.oecd.org/dac/aft) initiative is implemented jointly by the OECD development co-operation and trade communities. This contribution aims to: (1) enhance donor co-ordination and alignment in the design, delivery and evaluation of trade-related development assistance programmes; (2) provide practical guidance to maximise aid effectiveness in that area; and (3) promote greater coherence between aid and trade in donor and partner countries. OECD countries affirm commitments to aid, open trade and investment markets

OECD countries have reaffirmed their commitments on aid to developing countries and undertaken to abstain from trade protectionism, as part of a concerted drive to shore up the world economy and combat recession.
