Prosecution and Law Enforcement
Hard core cartel prosecution is a priority policy objective of the OECD Competition Committee. Strong sanctions are a necessary component of an effective antitrust enforcement policy against hard core cartels. Sanctioning has an important purpose: deterrence against future activity of that kind. An important supplement to fines against organisations for cartel conduct is sanctions against individuals for their participation in the conspiracy.
