The primary objective of the OECD Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) is to ensure the generation of high quality and reliable test data related to the safety of industrial chemical substances and preparations in the framework of harmonising testing procedures for the Mutual Acceptance of Data (MAD).

Singapore fulfilled all the conditions to adhere to the OECD system for the Mutual Acceptance of Data in the Assessment of Chemicals on 12 January 2010, making it the fourth non-member country after Israel, South Africa and Slovenia to join this multi-lateral agreement related to non-clinical safety studies required for regulatory purposes.
