Social Policies and Data

OECD countries need to modernise social protection systems to meet population ageing and extend opportunities for all. The OECD  has developed a range of indicators to meet these challenges. They are presented in four main databases: on tax and benefits systems, on social indicators , on social expenditure  and on income distribution and poverty . Datasets on family, sickness/disability, and pensions are also available. In all areas, taking a gender perspective is important for policy design.
