The impact of the crisis on ICT and ICT-related employment

This paper provides an overview of short-term and long-term developments in ICT employment trends. Preliminary analysis of available indicators shows that employment is dropping in the ICT sector - notably in ICT goods sectors and mostly remaining flat in ICT services. The paper also highlights some niche ICT activities where ICT employment is increasing despite the crisis.

This workshop, organised jointly by the World Bank/infoDev and the OECD, aims to share best practices in coherent approaches to meeting development objectives laid out by Ministers.

OECD Communications Outlook 2009

This new edition presents the most recent comparable data on the performance of the communication sector in OECD countries and on their policy frameworks. The 2009 edition analyses the communications sector over the years following the "dot com bubble" crisis and explores future developments. It provides an extensive range of indicators for the development of different communications networks and compares performance indicators such as revenue, investment, employment and prices for service throughout the OECD area.
