International Workshop: Ready, Steady, Go! Inspiring Design of Learning Environments for Early Childhood Education and Care, 31 May - 1 June 2012, Moscow, Russian Federation

Co-organised by OECD/CELE and World Bank, in co-operation with the National Ministry of Education and Science, Department of Education of the City of Moscow, Ministry of Education of Sakha (Yakutia) Republic and Skolkovo Foundation

The workshop will focus on current research on linkages between quality of facilities and developmental outcomes of young children; case studies of exemplary early childhood education and care facilities; and examples of national and regional frameworks relating to their design and construction. Cooking up success: why Finns learn better

Finnish students have earned top marks from the OECD’s landmark PISA study, which tests the skills and knowledge of 15-year-old students in more than 70 countries. Participants at the OECD conference entitled “A Recipe for Success: Transforming Learning Environments through Dynamic Local Partnerships " taking place in Finland from 22-24 February, will be able to observe, experiment, and learn first-hand some of the many approaches to effective learning environments used in Finnish schools.
