NEWS FOR LIBRARIANS

First Consultation Held with SourceOECD Advisory Group
On November 17, OECD Publishing held its first consultation with its SourceOECD Advisory Group. This first consultation was done by conference call with a group of North American librarians. This will be followed up by consultations with groups of European librarians and Asian librarians. Participants in this first session included Bobray Bordelon of Princeton University; Jim Church of University of California, Berkeley; Kathleen Dreyer of Columbia University; Anita Johnson of the Joint Bank-Fund Library (World Bank/IMF) and Laine Ruus of the University of Toronto.

After a brief introduction by Toby Green, Head of Marketing at OECD Publishing, a lively discussion ensued covering such topics as presentation of statistics, speed of the service, what to put on the home page, linking, citation of information found on SourceOECD, MARC records, site navigation, and archiving.

OECD wishes to thank all the participants for their valuable insights and looks forward to speaking with librarians from the other regions in the near future and to a new round of consultations early next year.

Model Tax Convention. Following last month's announcement that the July 2005 edition of the Condensed Version is available in English, we are now pleased to announce that the July 2005 Electronic Version (eMTC) is now also available in English via the Online Bookshop, SourceOECD, and Trade Partners. The Condensed Version includes only the Articles and Commentaries, while the Electronic Version includes Articles, Commentaries, Histories, Country Positions, Related Reports, and a table showing bilateral conventions in force using the MTC as a model. The update to the Two-Volume Loose leaf Version and a French version of the eMTC will come out early in 2006.

Themes on SourceOECD. We wish to remind readers that starting in 2006, SourceOECD themes will be expanded to include not only book content, but also statistics and journal content, and that is the reason for the price increase. More information can be found at News from OECD Publishing.

Performance of SourceOECD Statistics. We have noticed some performance problems with SourceOECD Statistics and are working with Ingenta to resolve them.

New Sales Agents. We would like to welcome Albertine icome serving the Czech and Slovak Republics and Books Unlimited serving Romania to the OECD family of sales agents.
