Additional national currency series included |
Historically the MEI has mostly published data in index form for several subjects which is generally regarded as the best method of presentation to enable comparison across countries for most subjects. However, in recognition that series denominated in national currency or other national units can also be of interest for a wider range of analysis the OECD has decided to include all such series it receives from countries in the release of MEI electronic products. The excel file New series in CD-Rom (March 2006).xls contains details of 303 such series across all countries included with this March 2006 release. This list also includes a number of seasonally adjusted series where the seasonal adjustment has been performed by the OECD. |

Forthcoming code changes for labour force
series |
The first phase of this project is a number of code changes for series currently published in the MEI paper publication and CD Rom which will be introduced in the April 2006 release of the MEI database – these are shown in the excel file: forthcoming code changes for labour force series. Further code changes are planned for the May 2006 release and users will informed of these with the April 2006 release. In addition to the code changes, a large number of new labour force series will be included in MEI products from the April 2006 release. SEASONAL ADJUSTMENTS |
New seasonal adjustments by OECD are generally carried out once a year, when the December figure is available. Revisions to individual series due to new seasonal adjustments by national source or by OECD are not signalled in this note. |
