Measuring Financial Literacy: Results of the OECD International Network on Financial Education (INFE) Pilot Study, OECD Working Paper on Finance, Insurance and Private Pensions, No.15

This paper presents the findings from an OECD International Network on Financial Education pilot study undertaken in 14 countries. The analysis focuses on variations in financial knowledge, behaviour and attitude across countries and within countries by socio-demographics. A Critical Analysis of the Technical Assumptions of the Standard Micro Portfolio Approach to Sovereign Debt Management, OECD Working Paper on Sovereign Borrowing and Public Debt Management, No.4

The study concludes that two technical key assumptions need to hold for the standard micro portfolio approach to yield optimal (i.e. cost-minimising) results.We argue that these assumptions do not hold in the current borrowing environment characterized by fiscal dominance with complex links between public debt management and monetary policy.
