The Factbook provides up-to-date information about the institutional, legal and regulatory frameworks for corporate governance across 49 jurisdictions worldwide. It complements the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance and can be used by governments, regulators and the private sector to compare their own frameworks with those of other countries and also to get information on practices in specific jurisdictions.
For almost 60 years, the OECD Code of Liberalisation of Capital Movements has provided a balanced framework for allowing countries to progressively remove barriers to the movement of capital, while providing flexibility to cope with situations of economic and financial instability. A review of the Code was adopted in 2019 to strengthen the instrument and respond to new financial stability challenges.
