Montevideo, Uruguay - 26-27 September 2013
This two-day seminar examined the monitoring and transparency of insurance markets in Latin America through the provision of sound insurance statistics and indicators. It brought together government, supervisory agency and central bank officials, industry practitioners, academics, statistical experts and representatives of international organisations. Participants shared their experiences with the goal of improving the relevance and quality of insurance statistics, regionally and globally, and enhancing market monitoring and transparency.

The seminar was organised by the Association of Latin American Insurance Supervisors (Asociación de Supervisores de Seguros de América Latina, ASSAL) and the OECD with the support of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) and the Central Bank of Uruguay (Banco Central de Uruguay, BCU).
