30 March-1 April 2004, Manila, Philippines
These events were jointly organised by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) under the aegis of the International Network of Pension Regulators and Supervisors (INPRS) activities. The events were also part of the OECD programme of the Centre for Co-operation with Non-Members, and were co-sponsored by the Government of Japan.
The conference involved discussion of issues relevant to the regulation and supervision of private pensions and insurance companies. The main topics were: (i) general trends on private pension, insurance and financial markets; (ii) governance; (iii) rights of beneficiaries; (iv) investment; regulations; (v) supervision; (vi) pension funds for government workers; and (vii) risk management.
