Competition Law and Policy in Latin America



Promoting market studies in Latin America

This project studies current practices of market studies in Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama and Peru so as to provide them with recommendations on how to improve the legal and institutional set-ups of competition market studies. An OECD report was launched during a two-day capacity-building event for competition officials in Santiago, Chile on 18-19 March 2015.

The Inter-American Development Bank and the OECD have collaborated on a series of reviews of competition law and policy regimes in Latin America since 2003. Most of these reviews were performed during the meetings of the Latin American Competition Forum which are held every year in a different country in Latin America and the Caribbean.
