On Wednesday 9 December 2009, Members of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) approved a policy marker to track official development assistance (ODA) in support of climate change adaptation.

In light of the UN Climate change conference in Copenhagen the OECD has prepared a brief analysis of aid in support of greenhouse gas mitigation in developing countries.
On 25 November, the DAC welcomed South Korea as its newest member. The Committee made its decision in a special session, during which Mr. Oh Joon, Korean Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, noted Korea’s eagerness to share its development experience – and success. “Half a century ago,” said Oh Joon, “Korea was one of the poorest nations in the world, endeavouring to emerge from the ashes of the Korean War to rebuild itself.” Korea
Italian Official Development assistance, or ODA, decreased steadily between 2008 and 2012, due in part to pressures from the economic crisis, but it rose in 2013.
