On 17 July, the OECD Council agreed to host the Multilateral Organisation Performance Assessment Network (MOPAN) Secretariat. MOPAN is a network of 16 donor countries with a common interest in assessing the organisational effectiveness of the major multilateral organisations they fund. Members undertake joint assessments, share information and draw on each other’s experience in monitoring and evaluation. The agreed hosting arrangement reinforces synergies with the OECD-DAC’s work on evaluation, multilateral aid and aid effectiveness; it will also enhance the visibility and quality of MOPAN’s work on multilateral effectiveness. Aid channelled to and through the multilateral system reached USD 54 billion in 2010.
