There will be strong pressure to account for the results of the massive aid effort that is currently being delivered and that will be brought into Haiti. A joint effort is underway to ensure a coherent and collaborative approach to evaluation in Haiti.

New OECD figures show continuing growth in development aid in 2009, despite the financial crisis.
At an international panel discussion on Haïti, the OECD Secretary General, A. Gurría said that "we have a great responsibility, in line with international commitments, to make our aid more effective and the multiple facets of our engagement more coherent, with greater impact".
