Linking Human Rights and Aid Effectiveness for Better Development Results: Practical Experience from the Health Sector (2008)
This report deals with the inter-linkages between aid affectiveness, human rights and improved results in the health sector. In this context, it assesses the functional contribution of human rights as a means of strengthening the implementation of the Paris Declaration and the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs). Furthermore, the report identifies and analyses examples of the application of human rights standards and principles to the health sector. It reviews how these approaches contribute to strengthened health systems through supporting the Paris Declaration principles.
