The Vietnamese economy is facing important challenges to maintain its high growth rate, manage high inflation, decrease trade and fiscal deficits, and address declining productivity and efficiency, especially in public investment. Supported by the OECD and other organisations, Vietnam has put in place an ambitious reform to promote better regulations in the form of Project 30. But more should be done to promote the implementation of such an ambitious project and address regulatory burdens.
Following the OECD publication on Administrative simplification in Vietnam, the OECD co-organised with USAID/Vietnam Competitiveness Initiative a Workshop on Enhancing regulatory quality: International experience and solutions for Vietnam that took place on 14 October 2011 in Hanoi. The workshop called on international experts to share experiences and good practices on the Framework for Regulatory Management, on Improving Productivity in Product and Labor Markets, and on Regulation of Infrastructure and Public Services.
