On April 26-27, the Asia & Pacific Desk joined the Partnership Unit to organise DevCom Seminar “Aid Effectiveness & Regional Economic Integration” in Hanoi, Vietnam.  This event was co-hosted by the Ministry of Planning and Investment of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea, and the OECD Development Centre. This seminar is directed to policy-makers in the field of aid effectiveness and senior staff of communication units in ministries and public development agencies from Southeast Asia. Kiichiro Fukasaku made a presentation in the first session about “Cooperating with Neighbours – Economic Integration in Southeast Asia to Overcome Global Economic Challenges” and chaired the second session on “How can Aid Effectiveness Foster Economic Integration”.
