    Key initiatives to build a more global OECD

    Ministers expressed full support for the OECD’s global relations strategy, as an essential element to increase its impact and relevance. This strategy has been the centrepiece of Secretary-General Angel Gurría’s vision to transform the Organisation into a more inclusive, global policy network and a prime forum for evidence-based policy exchange and global standard setting.

    Introductory Remarks by Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko at the Meeting with OECD Ambassadors

    I am delighted that my first visit to the OECD Headquarters coincides with a milestone in relations between Ukraine and the OECD – signing of the Joint Action Plan.     Meeting of the OECD Council on the occasion of the visit of H.E. Mr. Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine

    It is a great honour to welcome His Excellency President Poroshenko to the OECD. This is the first time that the President of Ukraine visits our organisation. The “Ukraine Action Plan” sets out an ambitious and transformational work programme that is designed to help Ukraine bring about the necessary reforms to overcome current economic challenges and ultimately build a better future for the Ukrainian people.

    Ukraine must enforce its new anti-corruption strategy and legislation

    Widespread corruption was one of the main reasons that led to the change of the political regime in Ukraine in 2014. The new administration pledged to fight corruption, a challenging task in the current context of the economic crisis and military conflict in the East of the country.

    OECD bolsters relationship with Ukraine

    The 34-member countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development welcomed a Memorandum of Understanding between the OECD and Ukraine which will help Ukraine’s efforts to tackle corruption, strengthen its tax system and promote competitiveness.

    National training workshop for green economy simulation analysis, Kiev, 2014

    The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is organising a national workshop on Green Economy Assessment (simulation modelling) on 10-11 April 2014 in Kiev, Ukraine. The workshop is delivered jointly with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Scientific Research Institute under the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
