The OECD reviews the corporate governance and regulatory framework in individual countries often as part of the process of their accession to OECD Membership and if they wish to become regular Participants to the OECD Working Party on State Ownership and Privatisation Practices. In the case of the accession reviews, the OECD examines the legal and regulatory framework and company practices to assess the degree to which the recommendations of the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance and the OECD Guidelines on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises have been implemented. In the case of reviews conducted solely by the Working Party on State Ownership and Privatisation Practices, only the implementation of the latter document is assessed.
