Testing of chemicals

Achievements

The following achievements have been made as part of the OECD work on Endocrine Disrupter Testing and Assessment:

February 2005/July 2005: Phase 2 of the Validation of the Amphibian Metamorphosis Assay

January 2005: 8th Meeting of the Task Force on Endocrine Disrupters Testing and Assessment
The Meeting discussed the outcome of the peer-reviews of the uterothrophic assay and recommended to proceed with the drafting of a Test Guideline.  Validation of the Hershberger assay is still on-going.  The enhanced version of TG407 has beed validated and a comprehensive report will be issued when resources are available.

December 2004: 3rd Meeting of the Validation Management Group for Ecotoxicity Testing
Validation of the fish 21-day assay will be supplemented with a negative substance.  The Meeting discussed the utility of fecundity data in this assay.
Validation of the amphibian metamorphosis assay with three more substances will continue in the first half of 2005; the VMG-eco agreed with the Phase 2 proposal.

November 2004: 2nd Meeting of the Validation management Group for Non-animal Testing
