Newly published set of Test Guidelines

 

A set of new and updated OECD Test Guidelines was published at the end of July 2015 to test chemicals and identify hazards such as endocrine disruption, serious eye damage, genotoxicity, skin irritation or corrosion.

  • Some are in vivo Test Guidelines improved to broaden their scope and utility, or new in vivo Test Guidelines that can generate comprehensive data on chemicals suspected to be endocrine disrupters; others are in vitro Test Guidelines that complement a set of alternative methods addressing a specific hazard.
  • The set of OECD Test Guidelines on skin irritation and skin corrosion was completely updated to reference new guidance on testing and assessment for skin irritation and corrosion.
  • The revision and modernisation of the set of OECD Test Guidelines on genotoxicity testing was also completed.
