In the implementation of its programme of work, the Tourism Committee has lined up key events until the end of the year.
A High-Level Roundtable co-organised with the Ministry of Tourism of Israel will be held from 21 (afternoon) to 22 October (morning) at the Jerusalem International Convention Centre focusing on “Industry and Policy Approaches to Foster Green Growth in Tourism”. This event is part of the Tourism Committee's programme of work in the area of “Green Innovation in Tourism Services” and the OECD's green growth initiatives.
Back-to-back with the Roundtable, the 86th Session of the Tourism Committee will take place in Jerusalem from 20 to 21 (morning) October 2010. The Tourism Committee regularly holds meetings outside of the Organisation's headquarters upon the invitation of member countries. In recent years, the Tourism Committee held meetings in Porto - Portugal (78th), Namur - Belgium (79th) and Riva del Garda - Italy (82nd).
The 10th International Forum on Tourism Statistics, co-organised with EUROSTAT, Turismo de Portugal I.P. and Statistics Portugal will be held from 22 to 23 November 2010 in Lisbon, Portugal. The International Forum on Tourism Statistics is a platform for the exchange of views on the development of tourism statistics.
A Workshop on "Enhancing Skills Development for Competitiveness in the Tourism Industry" co-organised with the Ministry of Tourism of Egypt will be held from 29 to 30 November 2010 in El-Gouna (Hurghada), Egypt. This event supports the implementation of the Tourism Committee's programme of work on the development of education and training in relation with tourism competitiveness, focusing on productivity, labour shortages and skills development.
