Fostering SMEs and Entrepreneurship Financing After the Crisis

Confindustria Headquarters

viale dell'Astronomia, 30 – Rome

7 July 2014

We have the pleasure to invite you to the international launch of the OECD annual report on Financing SMEs and Entrepreneurs 2014: An OECD Scoreboard, which will take place on 7th July, from 9.30 to 13.00.

The event is organised by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and the Confederation of Italian Industries (Confindustria) and will be hosted at Confindustria headquarters in Rome (viale dell'Astronomia, 30).

For three years now, the OECD SME finance Scoreboard, has provided an original framework to monitor trends in SMEs’ and entrepreneurs’ access to finance – at the country level and internationally – and a tool to support the formulation and evaluation of policies. The Scoreboard also contributes to the G20’s work on SME finance through the G20 Global Partnership on Financial Inclusion. With its core indicators of debt, equity and general market conditions, complemented by a review of government policy measures, the Scoreboard documents the financing difficulties for SMEs in the aftermath of the global crisis, the diverse paths to recovery across OECD and non-OECD countries, and the policy responses by national governments and international organisations to ease SME financing.

This special event will bring together policy makers, regulators, financial institutions, and SME and employer associations, to discuss recent trends in SME access to finance and exchange knowledge and perspectives on policies to foster SME and entrepreneurship financing after the crisis.

A draft agenda for the event is available here.

The event will be both in English and Italian languages.
