Cittadinanzattiva (LEED Partners) and the Frascati Group for corporate social responsibility have complied with an annual engagement starting from 2001: the realization of an international seminar on CSR, respecting the engagement taken through the Manifesto for corporate citizenship (December 99).
Taking corporate social responsibility seriously means taking care of it besides mere market or communication logics, writing in the corporate balances true facts, avoiding cheating with certificates, being coherent starting from the attitudes inside the company (the so-called business ethics), building policies and matters of social responsibility taking into consideration the stakeholders, having a strategy, being aware of having even public responsibilities for the defence of the general interests. But most of all, it means doing all these things together.
This seminar has to take into consideration:
The financial scandals (Cirio and Parmalat, after the international ones)
The growth of the power of consumer associations and in general of citizens’ organizations
The “globalisation crisis” that has changed market balances
The seminar will take place in Frascati at the Grand Hotel Villa Tuscolana next 15 and 16 October 2004 (all the day on Friday, up to the lunch time on Saturday).
