"As a young professional at the OECD I did empirical work on various current economic policy issues in different directorates, including labour markets and productivity developments. I learnt to apply rigorous research to concrete economic policy problems and present results in a concise and compelling way to convince policy makers.
I moved on to become a policy adviser in the German Ministry of Finance where I worked on various issues, including national fiscal policies and the preparation of G7/G8 and G20 Finance Minister meetings - a challenging task in particular after the world financial crisis of 2008.
I am now back at the OECD's Economics Department, where I lead a small team to prepare the Economic Surveys for Chile and Mexico. For me the Young Professional Programme has turned out to pave the way for an interesting and varied career, so far, and working in an international context has always been inspiring."
