The OECD/Baltic Workshop on "Enhancing Competitiveness in the Agro-Food Sector: Making Policies Work", brought together about 80 participants; including high level government officials from the Baltic and OECD countries, as well as parliamentarians, producer representatives, entrepreneurs, researchers and experts. The Workshop continued the policy dialogue between senior policy makers in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and OECD Member countries on structural, market and policy reforms in the agro-food sector. The discussions was set in the context of greater competition within the enlarged EU. The Workshop was prepared by the OECD's, Directorate for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries in co-operation with the Lithuanian Ministry of Agriculture, and was financed under the Baltic Regional Programme.
