Mr. Gurría was on an official visit to mark the 20th anniversary of China-OECD co-operation and attend an event jointly organised by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China. During the visit, Mr. Gurría also held bilateral meetings with high-level officials and presented the 2015 OECD Economic Survey of China.
Following a bilateral meeting with Secretary-General Angel Gurría and a seminar on recent economic and social developments, President Cavaco Silva addressed the OECD Council.
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met OECD experts led by Secretary-General Angel Gurría in Paris on Thursday 12 March to discuss Greece’s reforms. Prime Minister Tsipras was accompanied by Yanis Varoufakis, Minister of Finance; Nikos Pappas, Minister of State; and Euclid Tsakalotos, Minister for International Economic Relations.
Mr. Angel Gurría was in Berlin at the invitation of Mrs. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany. The Secretary-General also attended the G7 Stakeholder Conference and deliver remarks at a panel on promoting decent work worldwide through sustainable supply chains
The Secretary-General opened a high-level seminar by presenting the OECD Better Policies Series report “Tunisia - A Reform Agenda to Support Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth” as well as “Investing in Youth: Tunisia”. Mr. Gurría also held bilateral meetings with Mr. Beji Caid Essebsi, President of the Republic; Mr. Habib Essid, Head of Government; and several other Ministers and high-level officials.
Mr. Angel Gurría was in The Hague to attend the High-Level Policy Forum on Mental Health and Work Policy Challenges in OECD Countries, where he presented key findings of the OECD Fit Mind Fit Job report and was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Orange Nassau.
Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, was on an official visit to Madrid from 27 February to 2 March 2015. Mr. Gurría received a Doctorado Honoris Causa from the Universidad Europea de Madrid and the Nueva Economía Award, granted by the Nueva Economía Forum.
Mr. Angel Gurría, OECD Secretary-General, was in London on 23-24 February to present the 2015 OECD Economic Survey of the United Kingdom, alongside Mr. George Osborne, Chancellor of the Exchequer.
