The OECD has worked with Ukraine since its independence, and our collaboration has gradually intensified and deepened. The goal of this meeting is to deepen our exchanges on the needed reforms in Ukraine and ensure the effectiveness of our recently signed OECD Action Plan for Ukraine.

The OECD’s collaboration with Indonesia goes from strength to strength. Following hot on the heels of my March visit to Jakarta – when the Minister and I opened our first office in a Key Partner country – I am delighted to launch today the OECD-Indonesia Priority Areas for Co-operation. Indonesia is the first of our Key Partners to sign such a comprehensive joint work programme.

Our collaboration with Brazil began more than 20 years ago. Since then, Brazil’s participation has grown and highlights the importance that Brazil attaches to helping lead – and shape – the OECD’s work.

My overarching objective has always been, and will remain, to make this Organisation the go-to institution for policy advice on promoting growth, development and well-being in our Member countries and worldwide. These priorities have, therefore, been developed with a view to helping Member and Partner countries face the challenges and seize the opportunities presented to them.

In our new Economic Outlook, we show that the world economy remains stuck in a low-growth equilibrium of low investment, high unemployment, low productivity and low wage growth. The process of healing from the biggest crisis in our lifetime has been very slow. And we are still suffering from its legacies.

Today marks another key moment in stepping up the fight against offshore tax evasion. I congratulate the countries represented here for acting so quickly on the commitments made last year. And I offer the full support of the OECD in the implementation process that is now to follow. Together, let’s make tax transparency a reality around the world.

Looking ahead to the 2016 Chinese G20 presidency, the OECD will continue to support G20 and B20 work and the priorities of the incumbent presidency by providing its tailored expertise and policy findings with an emphasis on the new, more inclusive and innovation-driven, growth model. We at the OECD remain convinced that this path of “inclusive and innovative growth” is the right way to pave the way forward with the B20 and BIAC.
