The OECD manages two databases dedicated to international migration. The International Migration Database presents annual series for the last 10 years on foreign and foreign-born population, migration flows and naturalisations. It also includes statistics on employment status of foreigners and foreign-born by gender for selected years. These data are published in the annual report International Migration Outlook . The Database on Immigrants in OECD countries (DIOC) compiles OECD population censuses and register data around the year 2000 to provide stocks of immigrants by detailed country of birth and various economic and social indicators (nationality, education, demographic and labour market characteristics).
The OECD also proceeds to some methodological works: Standardisation of permanent-type inflows of migrants by category of entry The aim of the OECD is to obtain as full an accounting as possible of international migration flows, including both short- and long-term movements. The document on "Standardised statistics on permanent-type migration" presents the work done by the OECD Secretariat on the standardisation of permanent-type inflows of migrants by category of entry. Data are presented in the annual report International Migration Outlook. Estimating the foreign-born population on a current basis Some work has also been done as to provide with current estimates on the foreign-born population. Two methods of estimation have been used.
