Concern about sustainability underlies all OECD work. The Horizontal Programme on Sustainable Development promotes coordinated analyses on economic, environmental and social issues and long-term perspectives in the OECD work programme. It is overseen by the Annual Meeting of Sustainable Development Experts (AMSDE) who track progress in mainstreaming sustainable development perspectives in OECD country reviews, analyses, statistics and policy discussions. This is surveyed each year in an Annual Report . The AMSDE also oversees specific projects relating to sustainable development. These include approaches for measuring sustainable development and conducting sustainability assessments . The AMSDE highlights good governance practices for institutionalizing sustainable development and for national sustainable development strategies. A continuing activity examines environmentally-harmful subsidies and the political economy of subsidy reform and sustainable development. The OECD works closely with the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) and makes an annual contribution on themes such as energy for sustainable development and towards sustainable agriculture . It also works with UNESCO on education for sustainable development and with UNEP on the Marrakech Process on sustainable consumption and production. A special brochure on Gender and Sustainable Development reviews the role of women in increasing economic growth, reducing poverty and helping to achieve sustainable development in all countries. On this website, there are links to a wealth of projects and analysis which illuminate certain dimensions of sustainable development from climate change to corporate responsibility.
