The Programme on Institutional Management in Higher Education (IMHE) is a membership-based forum. Its strategic position within the OECD offers members a recognised international network drawing together education professionals, leaders, policy makers, managers and researchers. With direct access to OECD data, IMHE provides top-notch strategic analysis and advice on institutional leadership, governance and strategic management, research and innovation in higher education within a global knowledge economy.

IMHE focuses on a wide range of cross-cutting issues. Activities  include reviews of higher education in regional and city development, the assessment of higher education learning outcomes, as well as studies on quality teaching. in higher education and the management of internationalisation.

Members have access to all OECD publications online, receive the Higher Education Management and Policy Journal published three times per year, as well as the IMHE Info newsletter, which contains articles on higher education and information on recent publications and forthcoming events. IMHE conferences are standout events, raising crucial issues for the higher education sector with prominent speakers, stimulating discussion and networking opportunities.

OECD analyses of higher education policy are carried out under the auspices of the IMHE Governing Board, comprised of representatives from IMHE member organisations.
