The OECD monitors the interactions between economic conditions and fiscal policies to draw short-term economic projections and policy recommendations. A large part of this work is published in the OECD Economic Outlook , in the Economics Department working papers and in the Economic Surveys . The OECD has developed a methodology to disentangle the "cyclical" from the "structural" component of budget balances. This allows more informed evaluations of the fiscal stance and the size and role of automatic fiscal stabilisers. Estimates for individual member countries' general government structural balances are published in the OECD Economic Outlook .
