The Public Affairs Division is the OECD’s focal point for co-operation with business, labour, civil society and the general public.

It exploits a wide range of communications channels, from both traditional and new media. Also, because genuine communications imply dialogue, the OECD seeks comments and inputs from all its audiences through a variety of vehicles.

The OECD has co-operative activities with civil society through consultations with committee members, workshops and forums in such areas as the multilateral trading system, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, corporate governance, fighting corruption, the environment, development, biotechnology, food and agriculture, information and communications, and territorial development.

Representative from buisiness and labour have regular consultations with the annual OECD Ministerial Meeting, the Council and OECD committees, along with regular seminars on specific areas of OECD work. The OECD also holds consultations with civil society at large through the annual OECD Forum. This is organised alongside the OECD's annual ministerial meeting and discusses issues on the ministerial agenda. OECD also organises visits by interested groups to learn more about the OECD’s work and discuss it with OECD experts.
