OECD Member countries' industrial statistics cover detailed activities classified according to ISIC Revision 3 including:
- Mining and quarrying;
- Manufacturing;
- Electricity, gas and water supply; and
- Construction.

Changes over the last two decades in most countries' economic structure have resulted in the need for reliable and comparable statistics and policy-relevant indicators by in-house economists and Member country governments to carry out inter-countries and inter-sectors analyses on industrial growth and comparisons between industry and services developments.

The OECD Secretariat provides OECD economists and Member countries' analysts and policy makers with a wide range of detailed structural and short-term statistics relating to industrial sectors classified according to ISIC Revision 3 on:

- structural statistics , including enterprise data by size class;
- short-term statistics including business tendency survey data;
- annual national accounts based data: Structural analysis database; National accounts of OECD countries;
- birth, death, survival and high-growth rates.
