The OECD analyses recent development in migration movements and policies, focusing on the economic and social aspects of migration (International Migration Outlook ), on the management of labour migration to support economic growth and on the labour market integration of immigrants in OECD countries. Other areas of work consist in analysing specific topical issues (health workforce and migration project ) and in exploring the links between migration, trade and the economic development of origin countries. Work on migration statistics aims at monitoring migration flows and stocks (International Migration Data ) providing series for the last 10 years. It also aims at improving international comparability of migration data (Standardised statistics on permanent-type migration ) and providing with estimates of the foreign-born population . Another area of work has consisted in compiling OECD population censuses data to provide comparable stocks of migrants by detailed country of birth and various key economic and social indicators (Database on foreign-born and expatriates ).
