This two-day event brought together policy makers, development practitioners and academics to discuss ways for these stakeholders to help developing countries to build trade capacity and address supply-side constraints in order to realize the full benefits of integration in the world economy.

Cette étude (en anglais) recense les politiques de soutien en faveur des bioénergies dans les pays de l’OCDE et certains pays non OCDE. Revenant dans un premier temps sur les objectifs qui sous tendent le soutien en faveur de ce type d’énergies, le rapport propose ensuite une synthèse des objectifs quantitatifs qui ont été fixés dans la plupart de ces pays. Il présente enfin les différents types de mesures actuellement mises en place.

Le soutien public à la production de biocarburants dans les pays de l’OCDE coûte cher, peine à réduire les émissions de gaz à effet de serre et à améliorer la sécurité énergétique, et se répercute fortement sur les prix mondiaux des produits végétaux ; tel est le constat d’un nouveau rapport sur les mesures qui visent à dynamiser la production et la consommation de biocarburants dans les pays de l’OCDE.
