Donors are supporting a vast range of activities that affect investment, both domestic and foreign. They spend around 20% of their aid on these. But little evaluative material is available on the impact of these interventions on investment and employment in developing countries. The World Bank has launched an Aid Effectiveness Review 2006 coordinated with the 2006 Survey on Monitoring the Paris Declaration. This review will contribute to the monitoring of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness and establish the 2006 baseline for indicators 1 and 11. It will provide a qualitative assessment of progress for the other 10 Paris Indicators. Individual country profiles, that form the backbone of this review, are posted on the website. Comments are welcome before August 15, 2006.
