Call for papers: “Climate change, Employment and Local Development”

We are looking for experts to provide case study papers to identify cases where innovative policies and practices have been observed in the area of “Climate change, Employment and Local Development”. Cases should identify challenges and opportunities arising for the work of public services and other stakeholders in the relevant policy areas, and mechanisms and practices that have been put in place as a result to facilitate adaptation to greener demands of local labour markets.
Applications close 30 October 2009.

New LEED members – Australia and the Netherlands

Australia joined the LEED Programme in January 2009. Australia is represented on the LEED Directing Committee by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relation (DEEWR).

The Netherlands joined the LEED Programme in January 2009. The Netherlands is represented on the LEED Directing Committee by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW).

The OECD LEED Programme has just released a report on "Enhancing the Capacity of Partnerships to Influence Policy” which gathers the experience of the two capacity building seminars organised by the Trento Centre for Local Development in close co-operation with the Forum office unit at the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) in Vienna Austria.

Ces études permettent à une agence ou ville de faire évaluer ses progrès réalisés par une équipe internationale d’experts et de diffuser leurs résultats et bonnes pratiques.  Il permet en outre la participation à un processus de revue par les pairs avec la participation d’experts et praticiens, ainsi que des représentants des gouvernements des pays membres de l’OCDE.  Les villes et agences de développement intéressées à y participer sont priées de contacter le secrétariat de l'OCDE.

Projet OCDE LEED sur les Stratégies locales pour les compétences

Des compétences insuffisantes représentent un risque important pour l'économie de la connaissance d'aujourd'hui. Les parties prenantes au niveau local jouent un rôle de plus en plus important pour s'attaquer à cet enjeu. En 2007 LEED examine dix études de cas de pratiques innovantes dans la conception de stratégies locales de compétences en Asie orientale, Europe, Australasie, Amérique du Nord et du Sud.
