OECD published a case study report on the current status of regulatory uses and application of (Q)SAR models in member countries, which will assist in the identification and use of (Q)SAR models in regulatory contexts. Case studies on current regulatory applications and prospective uses received from Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Commission are compiled.

Les lois relatives aux accidents chimiques imposent aux exploitants de certains sites dangereux de produire des 'rapports de sécurité' ou de fournir des orientations concernant les programmes de gestion des risques liés à la prévention et la sécurité. Un questionnaire a été diffusé aux pays membres afin d'examiner les finalités de tels documents.

Ce document est le rapport de l’Atelier de l’OCDE sur la Sécurité de Nanomatériaux Manufacturé qui a été tenu a Washington D.C., du 7 au 9 décembre 2005. Cet Atelier a été organisé sous les auspices de la Réunion Conjointe du Comité des produits chimiques et du Groupe de travail sur les produits chimiques, les pesticides et la biotechnologie de l’OCDE. L’atelier á été prévu pour identifier les issues associées a la sécurité des nanomatériaux manufacturés pour la santé humaine et l’environnement.

Member countries are beginning to share experiences on using integrated approaches to fulfil information requirements for testing and assessment in different regulatory frameworks. A Focus Session held during the 39th Joint Meeting of the Chemicals Committee and Working Party on Chemicals, Pestcides and Biotechnology gave an overview of practical experiences with specific innovative approaches being used in member countries and provided an opportunity to discuss the need for paradigm shifts to make the best use of information available to determine testing, assessment and management needs.

OECD has adopted 86 harmonised templates for reporting summary information of the results from chemical testing. These templates, which have been prepared for database developers, prescribe the format by which results should be entered into and maintained in databases so that the data can easily be exchanged electronically across countries

The purpose of this case study document is to identify the similarities and differences between the emission estimation methods used in Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers (PRTRs) and Emission Scenario Documents (ESDs). The applicability of PRTR methods to the risk assessments intended by ESDs is also evaluated. Pulp and paper manufacture and textile wet processing are focused on in this document.

While this document is a synopsis of current activities and not necessarily comprehensive, it is expected to provide an "entry level" discussion of exposure assessment approaches across OECD.
