It presents findings of a first phase of a meta-analysis of value of statistical life estimates in environment, health and traffic risk context. Work is underway on expanding the analysis and teasing-out the policy implications of the work.

L’augmentation des échanges internationaux de connaissances, de ressources, de biens et de services entraînée par la mondialisation a engendré une augmentation importante de l’activité de transport dont l’impact sur l’environnement s’est traduit par une augmentation de l’activité économique en général, un redéploiement géographique des activités productrices et une modification du volume et de la nature des transports à effectuer pour répondre aux besoins du commerce mondial. Le présent rapport analyse les interrelations entre mondialisation, transports et environnement.

Version 1.1.02 of the OECD (Q)SAR Application Toolbox is now available. It can be downloaded free of charge. This Toolbox is a software application intended to be used by governments, the chemical industry and other stakeholders to fill gaps in (eco)toxicity data needed for assessing the hazards of chemicals. With this Toolbox, a user can fill data gaps by read-across and trend analysis, group chemicals into categories and gain access to a library of (Q)SAR models.
