Si les évolutions actuelles se poursuivent et si les politiques menées présentement sont maintenues, il faut s’attendre à un réchauffement rapide de la planète. Des actions s’imposent dès aujourd’hui pour réduire les émissions mondiales de GES dans les décennies à venir.

Testing a Representative Set of Nanomaterials – The Launch of a Sponsorship Programme

OECD’s Working Party on Manufactured Nanomaterials, has launched a “sponsorship programme” in which countries will share the testing of specific nanomaterials (MNs).  Much valuable information on the safety of MNs can be derived by testing a representative set for human health and environmental safety.  In launching this “sponsorship programme” the Working Party agreed a priority list of MNs for testing (based on materials which are in or close to commerce) as well as a list of endpoints for which they should be tested.  The OECD will be making regular updates on this programme.

OECD urges former Soviet States to accelerate environmental reforms

A new OECD-led report “Policies for a Better Environment: Progress in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia ” examines the recent environmental performance of 12 eastern European and central Asian countries and finds that while the region’s economy is growing at 7% per year, environmental policy reforms are not keeping pace. While countries in the region have legal and policy frameworks, they do not implement or enforce regulations and spend too little on environmental investments.
